Hardmode Swords in Terraria
There's nothing quite like discovering the power of your first Hardmode sword in Terraria. Once you've defeated the Wall of Flesh, a whole new world opens up in your Terraria Server - literally! The Hallow and Corruption biomes spread, new enemies appear, and most importantly, new ores are unlocked that allow you to craft some truly epic blades.
When you're ready to upgrade, the Frostbrand is a fantastic option. This icy blade does 47 damage and emits a blizzard with every swing, damaging and slowing enemies. The Frostbrand is a little more difficult to craft but well worth the effort.
The real game changers are the Excalibur and True Excalibur. Excalibur deals a massive 65 damage and fires sword beams that pass through walls. The True Excalibur, crafted with Hallowed Bars, boosts that damage to 80 with an increased beam range and velocity.
Hardmode introduces dangers untold in Terraria, but it also brings rewards beyond imagination. There's no feeling quite like unleashing the power of an end-game sword and watching enemies fall before your might. The swords of Hardmode stand ready to turn you into a hero!
#5 Keybrand - Kingdom Hearts reference
To nab this powerful weapon, you'll have to defeat Plantera, the giant angry flower boss of the Jungle Temple. Once Plantera has been vanquished, the Dungeon will transform into a much more dangerous place. This is where the Keybrand has a chance to drop from Blue Armoured Bones, Hell Armoured Bones, and Rusty Armoured Bones. These spooky skeletons spawn frequently in the Dungeon, so keep defeating them and the Keybrand will be yours in no time!
The Keybrand has a 1/200 chance to drop from these boney foes, so patience and persistence is key. But don't get discouraged - with some time and a little luck, this superb sword will be in your hot little hands. When that happens, you'll be slicing through enemies and bosses like butter. The Keybrand is a prize worth fighting for, and will serve you well on your journey to defeat the Moon Lord!
#4 The Horseman’s Blade - Pumpkin-Themed Attacks
The Horseman’s Blade is dropped by the Pumpking, the final boss enemy during the Pumpkin Moon event. This spooky nighttime invasion has a small chance of dropping the blade, between 1.56-12.5% (and 1.79-14.29% during the actual event).
To maximise your chances, get to at least wave 15 of the Pumpkin Moon - that should net you this fearsome blade! The more Pumpkings you defeat, the higher your odds of getting this weapon. With some luck and determination, the Horseman’s Blade can be yours.
Once obtained, this blade deals a whopping 200 damage, shoots out damaging pumpkin projectiles, and even has a chance to drop healing potions on hit! You’ll be slicing through enemies in style with this seasonal sword. The Horseman’s Blade is a must-have for any melee build, so grab some friends and start farming those Pumpkings!
#3 Star Wrath - An upgrade to the Starfury
You’re in the endgame now, Terraria champion, and only the mightiest of swords will do! The Star Wrath is a blade fit for a hero, and with a little luck and perseverance you’ll soon wield its celestial power.
To find the Star Wrath, you’ll need to face Terraria’s final boss, the sinister Moon Lord himself. This corrupt cosmic entity has a small chance to drop the Star Wrath upon defeat, so you may need to vanquish him several times.
Once the Moon Lord lies vanquished and the Star Wrath is in your grasp, no enemy will stand in your way. This divine sword calls down a hail of stars from the heavens with every swing, obliterating all in their path. Its impressive stats also increase your damage, critical chance, and speed.
#2 Flying Dragon - One of the Fiercest-Looking Weapons
If you're looking to slay bosses in style, the Flying Dragon sword is for you! To get your hands on this epic blade, you'll have to take on Betsy, the Queen of the Old One's Army.
Betsy only shows up once you've defeated the Golem, so make sure you're geared up with the best gear from the Jungle Temple before summoning the Old One's Army. Once Betsy spawns, dodge her damaging fireballs and swooping charges while dealing damage. If your arena is set up right and your equipment is up to par, you'll have her on the ropes in no time!
When Betsy's health gets low, she'll start dropping treasure like there's no tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled for a black and red sword spinning through the air - that's the Flying Dragon! This deadly weapon deals massive damage and fires a projectile on every swing. With a base damage of 110, fast speed, and 10% critical strike chance, the Flying Dragon will make short work of any monster foolish enough to stand in your way.
#1 Meowmere - Cute and Deadly
To get your paws on the Meowmere, you’ll need to defeat the enigmatic Moon Lord, the final boss in Terraria. Summoning this sinister celestial requires progressing through the entire game, triumphing over the Lunatic Cultist, and surviving the perilous Lunar Events.
The Meowmere is an exceedingly uncommon drop from the Moon Lord, so you may need to defeat this fearsome foe multiple times before obtaining this coveted blade. But it will all be worth it once you unleash the Meowmere’s rainbow death beams and send enemies flying! With stats like 110 damage, fast speed, and the ability to fire deadly rainbow cats with each swing, the Meowmere earns its title as one of Terraria’s most powerful and sought-after swords.
