GOLDEN HOUR — the hour after the sun rises and before the sun sets — is like nothing else. The sun beams with a soft, orange-tinged light and creates an otherworldly glow, which inspired Chanel Cometes Collective member and makeup artist Valentina Li for her latest collaboration with the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio.
While ideated for the northern hemisphere summer, the Les Beiges Golden Hour Collection is just as suited to warming winter skin. It’s radiant and vibrant with shades of sunrise and sunset washing over the cheeks, eyes, lips and nails.

The centrepiece of the collection is the exclusive creation Les Beiges Healthy Golden Glow Powder. It’s an illuminating palette that looks just like the sun shining on the skin, with pearlescent particles and a sheer finish to enhance a natural glow without sitting glittery or metallic on the skin. The palette is available in two colourways — Éclat du Soir, a satin pink and rose gold, and Soleil Couchant, a terracotta and coppery bronze — to complement a spectrum of skin tones.
Also for the cheeks are two new shades of Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick shades: the golden orange Reset and satin pink Refresh. While both appear bold and bright in the stick, the cream blush melts into the skin to impart a wearable wash of colour and dewy radiance.
On the eyes, the Les Beiges Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette in Golden curates shimmering rose gold, copper and coral with a matte mauve brown and pink-ish taupe. These eyeshadows softly sculpt and illuminate the eyes as they catch the light, making for a sophisticated look by day and by night.
Lips also see a sun-soaked Rouge Coco Flash. The hydrating lipstick slips across lips with the signature sheer, high-shine and shimmering finish it’s loved for, now in beige, sienna, hot pink and brick red shades in this collection.
To complete the look, the Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour interprets the two extremes of the golden hour phenomenon. Solaire is a satin golden polish which reflects the shimmering, rising sun, while Incandescente is an orange-red reminiscent of the intense heat of a summer afternoon.
