If you loved watching Michael Sheen take on an interview like never before in one-off BBC show The Assembly last year, you'll be pleased with this TV news – a full four-part series has now been picked up by ITV, where we'll see famous faces interviewed by a group of inquisitive interviewers, all of whom are autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled.
Each episode will see the celebrities forced to answer questions from their most honest, funny, chaotic and heartwarming interviewers yet, with no area of their life off the cards.

I can’t wait for The Assembly interviewers to ask our brilliant cast of celebrities a plethora of burning questions, which will no doubt make for must watch TV."

The Assembly: What's the show about?
If you missed the BBC pilot episode last year, The Assembly is an adaptation of a 2022 French series, Les Rencontres du Papotin, and sees celebrities facing the most unique interview experience of their lives.
Each famous face sits down for a no-holds-barred chat with a group of autistic, neurodivergent, and/or learning disabled journalists, who put some unexpected and heart-warming questions to the A-list cast.
In last year's episode, actor Michael Sheen was asked about everything from his favourite food and favourite Disney film, to why he returned his OBE, who he'd swap out of the royal family, and what it feels like to date someone only five years older than his daughter.
The Assembly: Cast
In exciting news, The Assembly has announced its first group of guests, and they're very good.
Rivals actor David Tennant will be taking questions from the audience, alongside his co-star and Eastenders icon Danny Dyer. They'll be joined by musician and Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall, with the line-up completed by Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker. One thing we can guarantee is that none of the guests will expect the questions they'll be asked.
ITV said they worked with production company Rockerdale plus "with national and local, autistic and neurodivergent organisations to ensure every element of The Assembly works for and with autistic and neurodivergent voices."
