I was coin hounding at my local bank and found a handfull of half dollars. I saw no obvious silver, but looked through as I always do for any obvious errors. Then I got to this half dollar. It looked normal at first, but when I flipped it to check the reverse I was stunned. I had to do a double take! It was a two headed half, the first I have ever found. When I looked at it closer, I found that not only was it two headed, but it was from two mints. Each side had a mint mark, one with a P, the other with a D. A google search later and I still had no answers. I am hoping this forum can help me determine if this is a valuble error, and if I should get it graded? I've got one I picked up on ebay just to have for fun. There are several on there right now for an average of $10.

@rbsum, yes sounds like a Magician's coin, so not a mint error and not worth sending in for grading. You should be able to see a seam between the two halves along the rim on one side. Older versions tended to be made from two half coins joined along the edge. If you use the CCF search box at the top of your screen with the keywords MAGICIAN COIN you will see several examples.

that it is most likely a magician' s coin. It's still kinda neat, though.

Another interesting magic coin:
A dime will fit in the reverse and you can put a dime the reverse. and change the coin from a cent into a dime. Or you can show both coins and fit them together as one coin. (preferably the cent), so it looks like the dime disappeared.
